I have used it once and so far it is working. I will not use it much but it was a good price for what I want to use it for. The only thing is that the cords to it are to short.

I need a new DVD player, got it from Amazon. I connected it to my HDTV and WOW you would not believe the quality of the picture. Only thing I needed was a hdmi cord, which I already had. Great product.

After one day of use, the player works very well. The remote is not the easiest to use as the layout of the most used buttons is confusing and not easy to use. Many of the buttons are not labeled and you have to continuously look at the very very fine print in the manual showing the remote with arrows to each button saying what they are but in many cases not explaining what they are really used for or in when and how they should be used.
I gave it a four star in all categories because of the above and the fact that I have only had it for one day.
I purchased it because it has both HDMI and RCA hookups. It comes with the RCA wiring. My older TV can only use the RCA hookup. Picture is good, clear and in HD.
It is wider than the unit It replaces and is made mostly of plastic. How durable it will be remains to be seen. It only has a one inch wide window on the front that shows printing in hashed white lines for on, off, load disc and a few more words.

Needed a DVD player with a HDMI output. Did some research and found this at a good price on the sears site. Very easy to connect using the HDMI cable. Easy to operate. When we first turned it on, the TV automatically went to the DVD mode. Has a very clear picture.

I've had an older model dvd/cd player since brand new in 2000 but it finally died and I was in the market for a new one.
After doing some online comparisons, I decided to go with this one. The ease of operation for everyone in the house is a blessing as I don't have to be around to turn it on and set up the movies.
It's slim line design allowed me to make more room in the cabinet for other stuff and do some re-arranging.
So far so good on this product. Can't wait to see what else it does.

I have an eclectic collection of dvd's that are no longer available anywhere. Other dvd players, even brand new, moan and groan and refuse to play many of them. Why I don't know. But I did know that my Samsung dvd player (5 to 10 years old) plays ALL my dvds with no prob whatsoever. SO, I decided to try another Samsung. Sure nuff, I popped in one of my "problem" irreplaceable dvd's and it played like it was something super special, which it is. So my hunch was right. Other manufacturers don't know what they are doing. Samsung does. As long as Samsung players play my rare dvds, they have a devoted customer for life!

This DVD player often got stuck when playing a disc. At first I thought it was because the disc was scratched, but then noticed it getting stuck on brand new DVDs. I no longer use this product.

I have to say I am usually really happy with Samsung, but this product has been a big let down. It plays about 1 in ten DVD. Most of the time it just wont load it. Other times it will start to play, then is pixelated, and stops. Sometimes, it will play a dvd one day, then it wont the next. I play these same dvd's in many other players, so I know it is not the dvd's. I am waiting on firmware, to see if that helps, but no download available yet. Samsung, this is a lemon.
