the remote quit working after a week.
programmed a 2nd universal remote & it worked for a couple days & then quit.
had to send it back for exchange, hoping it was just a lemon
i also found the remote very unwieldy. it is smaller than the palm of my hand & the buttons are tiny.
when it was working the dvd player had a good picture & also had the connectors i needed.

I have an HDMI tv, and I have not been able to use this video player on it. I thought I had read that it was possible to use it even thought the video player is not HDMI. Any body know how, please tell me! (I'm 82, so not like these kids who can figure anything out!)

we are over 60 and pretty much electronically impaired...this DVD player was so easy to install and works like a charm.
it is also tiny (last time we bought one was many years ago for probably 200% more money and almost impossibl;e to figure out where all the wires went.... amazing how things change

Very basic unit. Good unit if your 5.1 surround sound reciever has good Dolby and DTS decoders. You can not find a cheaper name brand DVD player.

For the money, I could not have been happier. I loaded a highly sensitive accoustic guitar piece and could hear every finger sliding nuance...the response was excellent. The video quality was more than satisfactory, and I couldnt expect more than I knew this product to be; a very cost effective basic cd/dvd player with some extra minor benefits. I would have been satisfied without the benefits. I would recomend this unit to anyone wit an IQ over 110. It is minimally complicated and a non-technically savy person would not have as easy a time appreciating the meandering button pushing to set up the video, but thats ok. They can pay alittle more and have it all done for them. All and all, the unit is cost effective and does what it says it can do.

I got this player for my dad who is 89 and has trouble with some devices. He has had no problems with this player so far, and it seems to operate perfectly. Thanks for a great inexpensive product!

The first couple days i used it, it worked fine. After a couple weeks, it stopped playing any disk, newer dvd, 90's movie, it didn't matter. It reads the disk for about one minute, then it says can't read disk. I've checked for an update, it has the newest software. I have changed the scan method from I-scan to P-scan and it hasn't helped. It is a nice dvd player, simple yet sleek design, but I'm very displeased with the performance of this dvd player. I don't think Samsung is a bad company, I would highly recommend Samsung as a solid company.
